March 28

As my dad said- I've "always had a soft spot for chocolate labs."

And yes, me and Hilary really were that good looking back then....

USA vs. Mexico in the World Cup Qualifier. Tied 0-0. Since we can never win on Mexico's turf, I'll take a draw!

March 24

Happy Birthday Mom Westra! We had a great family lunch, then Staci and I were able to see Addie before she headed back to Chicago! Night time brought more house decorating!

March 23

Chay, Staci and I went on a little road trip to visit Ash! So great to all be together again! At night we had a Chopped Challenge. Chopped is a Food Network show where you get four random ingredients and have to make something with it! Our ingredients were oranges, red wine, cinnamon and cream cheese. So. Much. Fun.

Kathy, Lisa and Betty made a dip with orange juice, red wine, cinnamon, marshmallow fluff and caramel. It was surprisingly good!

Rach and Holls made toasted french bread with orange cream cheese and a red wine, orange juice, cinnamon syrup. Also very good!

Staci and I made a red wine balsamic vinegar reduction mixed with cream cheese, put that on toasted french bread, and topped with oranges sauteed in cinnamon, sugar and rosemary! We loved it!

A little video from when Rox and I got home!

Is it concerning that Eric seemed more excited to see Roxy than me? :)

March 18

Okay today got a little crazy. Before going to bed I made sure to check that the door was locked to the condo because if I didn't I would think about it all night - I'm sure you can relate. It was locked but when I crawled into bed my mind still wandered to the drunken college idiots who might try to get in thinking this was their condo.

And that's exactly what happened at 2:00 in the morning! (I'm available for psychic consultations at a reasonable $20/hr). That's right. Two o'clock rolls around and Victoria and I are awoken to the sound of the doorbell....many many times. We both venture to the front door and cautiously peer thru the peep hole as tho the person on the otherwise could see us. The gentleman is clearly drunk and keeps ringing the doorbell, knocking and trying to open the door. At this point we go to the kitchen to call the front desk - no answer - I left a lovely message about the necessity of an emergency number. So naturally Victoria and I grab pots to handle this idiot ourselves...just kidding. Well we did get pots for self defense but we also woke up grandpa and grandma. Gramps chased the moron down because he had finally went to the next condo over. He was still in the wrong place.

A few hours later I flew home - with a lovely storm delay in Nashville, a review of the application for national healthcare, crazy turbulence, a very angry flight attendant, an unforeseen traffic jam, and a near collision.

It was a great trip and I was able to read four and a half books in four days! :)

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Now, back to Florida :)
Today was cloudy, rainy and windy. Boo. But we didn't let that stop us! Breakfast and a book on the porch, followed by grandpa pulling all us girls up front at church to join the impromptu choir, then more reading on the porch under a blanket, then reading in the hot tub on the porch (which is incredibly similar to my junior year of college spring break with Staci and Rach!). And every evening ended with cards.

March 16

Breakfast at Bayou Joes is a tradition that I willingly uphold :) Followed by the tradition of beaches and books.

March 15

So excited to see grandpa and grandma Muller! I was made for the retiree life - learning to knit (thanks grandma!), playing cards, reading books and in bed by 10!
